The name of Krones first came to the attention of the British bottling and packaging industry in 1964, when two Krones labelling machines were exhibited at The Brewers’ Show at Olympia in London. From such modest beginnings, the reputation of the then unknown Bavarian machinery manufacturer has grown inexorably over the subsequent 4 decades, and Krones position in the UK and Irish marketplace today is commensurate with the company’s global status as industry market leader.
Demand for Krones’ labellers quickly spread across many industries within the bottling / packaging spectrum, and, today, approaching 2000 labelling machines have been installed in locations throughout the length and breadth of the British Isles.
When, from the mid 1970s onwards, Krones machinery portfolio expanded almost exponentially, the UK / Irish market proved to be an extremely fertile one for all types of Krones machines, and soon the company became the leading turnkey supplier of complete filling and packaging lines.
Since those early beginnings in 1964, Krones has been responsible for an estimated 4,000 installations of capital plant in the bottling / canning / packaging sector, and the company’s Bolton-based British subsidiary, Krones UK Ltd, has a long-established and well-proven infrastructure, providing a comprehensive range of sales and after-sales services to companies operating in most branches of the FMCG sector.
Now employing 90 personnel at the company’s British headquarters, Krones UK has extensive experience of all aspects of sales and marketing of the Group’s extensive portfolio, including turnkey project design and implementation. The company’s comprehensive range of support services includes spare parts and change parts supply, field service engineering, and customer technical training.
Krones UK Ltd is proud of the part it has played in the inexorable growth of the Krones group over many years, and the UK / Ireland has long been one of the most important export markets for all the product divisions of the Krones group.
